Key pointers to answering this question in the exam
This question should only be answered if you are comfortable using the technical drawing equipment.
If you do intend n answering it remember these key points! Check the scale - The question always includes a scale so ensure you find the scale before you start! if it is 1:5 divide all measurements by 5. Find the material sizes - the dimensions of the majority of material used in the drawing should be included in the corner of the question. You will need to find these dimensions in order to complete the drawing Four main dimensions- you will be required to put four key measurements on your drawing so make sure you don't forget. The measurements should be taken from the question, not your scaled down measurements. Part (b) joint - In part (b) you will be asked to name and sketch a suitable jointing method for some part of the artefact you are drawing. Remember that a dowel joint is suitable in nearly all situations! |
